Michael Walker, O.D.

Dr. Michael Walker is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). He completed 13 months of residency training in ocular disease with the Barnet Dulaney Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Following the residency, he worked 9 years at a large multi-specialty health care referral center before returning to the south. He is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is also currently on the medical advisory board for Sophie’s Voice Foundation.

His emphasis is on ocular disease, pre and post op surgery, contact lenses and primary care.

When not reading books, he enjoys family time, hiking, backpacking, basketball, and mission work. Dr. Walker lives in Smyrna with his wife Nancy, and his two children.
